Entrepreneur Leo Padron, the founder of Padron Watch Company, launched a Kickstarter project for his Vuelta mechanical timepiece in February 2012. Two months later, as if to prove the potential of funding sites like Kickstarter, Padron had raised just over $98,000 (five times his original pledge goal) for initial tooling and manufacturing of the Vuelta model.
Since then he’s been even busier developing a new line of vintage mechanical wristwatches. As a self-proclaimed “tinkerer and builder of things,” Leo steers away from run-of-the-mill digital watches, returning instead to an era favoring precision and craftsmanship.
